Model Initialization Experiments

This project is being conducted by the University of Montana Group for Quantitative Study of Ice. The purpose of this project is to carry out an ice sheet model inter-comparison study over the Greenland ice sheet using common data. We will conduct assimilation simulations using ELMERICE, ISSM, and VarGLAS. To explore sensitivity of the resulting state, these simulations will include multiple bed geometries from standard bed DEMs (i.e. BedMap2) and mass conservation bed. Additionally, effects of using the output of one model as initialization for the other models will be explored. Further, all data will be assembled into netCDF files for easy download by other groups. All procedures will be documented on this wiki as the work progresses.
